In the second ODI against Bangladesh, a big betrayal happened with Pakistan batsman Salman Ali Aga. Agha was batting well at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur and had scored 64 runs in 62 balls. It seemed that he would get a big innings with his bat but Mehdi Hasan Miraz fraudulently ran him out. Agha tried to help Mehdi Hasan at the strike end but the Bangladeshi captain, disregarding the ‘spirit of the game’, ran him out. During this period there was an argument between Agha and Mehdi Hasan.

Agha probably wanted to tell that he was definitely out of the crease but he wanted to pick up the ball and give it to Mehdi Hasan. However, Mehdi Hasan did not withdraw the appeal despite Agha’s protest and the Pakistani batsman had to return to the pavilion. Agha looked very angry while going back to the pavilion. He threw away the helmet and gloves as soon as he reached the boundary line. He was also seen mumbling something.

What is the whole matter?

The entire incident took place in the 39th over of Pakistan’s innings. Mehdi Hasan was bowling this over and Mohammad Rizwan was on strike. The fourth ball of this over was punched by Rizwan with the backfoot, which went towards Agha standing on non-strike. Standing outside the crease, Agha looked towards the ball and tried to return to the crease, when he had a slight collision with Mehdi Hasan, who had come to field the ball. The ball had stopped near Agha’s feet. He picked up the ball and tried to give it to Mehdi Hasan but Mehdi picked it up before him and hit it on the stump. Agha was found outside the crease and was declared run out. Pakistani fans are trolling Mehdi Hasan fiercely for running out Agha in this manner.

Pakistan’s innings collapsed as soon as the batsmen were out.

In the first match played on Wednesday (11 March), Pakistan was restricted to just 114 runs. He had to face a crushing defeat by 8 wickets. Maaz Sadaqat and Sahibzada Farhan gave a good start to the Pakistan team in the second ODI. Both of them made a partnership of 103 runs in 12.3 overs for the first wicket. However, the Pakistani innings slowed down as soon as Maaz Sadaqat (75 runs in 46 balls) was out. The team scored only 19 runs in the next 7 overs and lost 2 more wickets.

After this, Agha along with Rizwan took charge and took the score beyond 200. The Pakistan team seemed to be moving towards a big score but its innings fell apart as soon as Agha was run out. Agha was out as the fourth wicket on the score of 231. After his departure, Pakistan lost 6 wickets in scoring 43 runs. The Pakistani team could not even play the full 50 overs and was all out for 274 runs.
