Relief has arrived for the lakhs of students affiliated with the Haryana Board of School Education. The Board has clarified that the results for the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations will be declared in the second week of May this year. Approximately 5.66 lakh examinees are currently awaiting their results. The Board will release the Class 12 results first to ensure that students do not face any difficulties during the college admission process.
In parallel, several key preparations are underway, including the evaluation of answer sheets, improvements to examination centers, and providing students with the opportunity to retake examinations.
Evaluation of Answer Sheets to Begin After March 20
According to the Board, the evaluation of answer sheets will commence immediately after the Class 10 examinations conclude on March 20. Currently, the process of affixing secrecy codes to the answer sheets is proceeding at a rapid pace. The Board explains that the evaluation process could not be initiated earlier because the majority of teachers were occupied with examination duties. As soon as the examinations conclude, the evaluation work will be accelerated to ensure that the results are declared on time.
Preparations to Improve Examination Centers
This time, the Board appears to be taking a serious approach regarding examination centers as well. Based on reports submitted by "flying squads" (inspection teams), centers characterized by overcrowding or inadequate facilities are being identified. Centers lacking proper seating arrangements or those that are difficult for students to access will be replaced in the upcoming academic session. The Board's objective is to ensure that students have the opportunity to take their examinations in a better and more conducive environment.
Students to be Given a Chance to Retake Exams
This year, the Board has also decided to introduce a special provision in the interest of the students. Students who feel they did not perform well in one or two papers will be given the opportunity to retake those examinations 15 days after the conclusion of the main exams. Students will be able to retake examinations in their chosen subjects, and the higher scores obtained in either attempt will be recorded in their final mark sheets. This initiative will provide students with an opportunity to improve their academic performance and ensure that they do not lose an entire academic year.
