Eid 2026 LIVE: When Eid Al Fitr will start revealed after Saudi moon sighting announcement

The date Ramadan will end for Muslims in the UK and around the world this year has been announced. The UAE moon-sighting committee met today, on March 18. Senior religious leaders, astronomers and scholars assessed observation of the Shawwal crescent moon from across the Middle Eastern country.
Elsewhere, Saudi Arabia's Supreme Court called on officials and citizens across the country to look for the Shawwal Moon. And just after 3pm GMT, it was announced Eid al Fitr will begin on March 20, as the Shawwal crescent moon was not sighted.
