Meghan Markle is facing a major setback as the venue that she is set to hold her Sydney 'girls trip' retreat in is still unfinished. The 44-year-old is set to travel to Australia with Prince Harry next month, with the pair taking on various separate and joint engagements during their trip.

Announced earlier this month, Meghan's "Her Best Life Retreat" will welcome up to 300 women for a three-day luxury gathering from April 17 to 19. The event is set to take place at the five-star InterContinental Hotel in eastern Sydney.

The venue has promoted its ocean-facing infinity pool as a key attraction, promising attendees a "relaxed time by the pool overlooking Coogee Beach".

However, the swimming facility currently remains unfinished, with works, according to the hotel's website, set to be complete next month.

One recent guest has described the ongoing refurbishment as "a work in progress", adding that there is "a blot on the view".

The hotel's website also does not explicitly guarantee that the facilities will be complete by the time guests arrive for Meghan's event.

Described as "the ultimate girls' weekend", tickets for Meghan's three-day retreat will start at £1,400 [$2,626AUD] per person.

Following the announcement, it states that a few 'early bird' tickets are available before general release, priced at $ 2,699 AUD [£1,400].

The VIP experience will set fans back $3,199AUD [£1,700].

This experience includes, but is not limited to, a group picture with Meghan, seating within the front two rows at Meghan's event and an exclusive VIP goodie bag.
