Anu Aggarwal , best known for her breakout role in ' Aashiqui ', has shared an emotional reflection on her life-changing accident in 1999, opening up about the physical and mental toll it took on her and the long road to recovery that followed.

In a heartfelt post on social media, the former actress spoke about how the accident impacted far more than just her appearance. “People talked about the face, but it was not just that. My entire body went through a complete shake-up. I went through a lot." She added, “I devoted myself to healing, with complete patience, acceptance, and happiness. People spoke about the face, but the healing was of the whole body."

Expressing gratitude for her journey, Anu highlighted the practices that helped her recover. “I am just so grateful that I have, in a way, magically healed. Yoga, discipline, patience, mindful living, belief in higher powers…and continuing my work of compassion—have been the biggest healers."

She also spoke about finding strength in nature and spirituality, writing, “Tuning into the cycles of nature, especially during Navratri , has helped me heal. Holistic healing . The foundation of everything. Happy Navratri!"

The post revisits the aftermath of her near-fatal car accident, which reportedly left her in a coma for several weeks and altered the course of her life. As she has shared in earlier interviews, the incident deeply affected her physical health as well as her mental well-being, requiring years of recovery and rehabilitation.

Anu rose to fame in the early 1990s with filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt ’s musical hit Aashiqui, becoming widely known as the “Aashiqui girl” almost overnight. She later appeared in films like King Uncle, Khal-Naaikaa, and Return of Jewel Thief, further cementing her place in the industry.
