A huge uproar has arisen after the death of the famous saint Chandrashekhar, who was known as ‘Farsa wale Baba’ in Braj, in Kosikalan area of ​​Mathura, the city of Kanha, who dedicated his life to cow service, in a suspicious road accident. Angered by this incident, villagers and cow protectors blocked the Delhi-Agra National Highway (NH-2), calling it a planned murder by cow smugglers. Police had to use aerial firing and force to control the angry crowd, in which several people were reported injured.

Accident or murder while chasing cattle smugglers?

According to the information received, the incident took place between 3 and 4 o’clock last night. It is being told that Baba Chandrashekhar had received information about cow smuggling in the area. He was fearlessly chasing the suspects on his bike when a speeding unknown vehicle hit him hard near Navipur village. The collision was so severe that Baba died on the spot. The news of the incident spread like wildfire in the entire Braj region and thousands of cow devotees came out on the streets.

Hours of orgy on the highway, stone pelting and aerial firing on police

Angered by the saint’s death, supporters and Hindu organizations completely blocked the highway, bringing traffic to a standstill. The situation went out of control during the protest when the crowd started pelting stones while raising slogans against the police administration. The windows of many vehicles were broken in the stone pelting and there was a stampede among the policemen. To control the situation, the police reportedly had to open fire in the air. Some protesters and policemen have been injured in this clash.

Police’s ‘fog’ theory vs villagers’ anger

Mathura SSP says that in the preliminary investigation the matter appears to be an accident due to dense fog, but the police is investigating from every angle. At the same time, the local people have caught a suspicious youth from the spot and handed him over to the police, while three others are said to be absconding. People allege that Baba was deliberately crushed to death by a vehicle. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also taken cognizance of the incident and directed the officials to conduct a fair investigation and take strict action against the culprits.

Thousands of people bid their last farewell with tearful eyes

Baba Chandrashekhar was known throughout Uttar Pradesh for his fearless style and cow service. His mortal remains were taken to the cowshed in village Anjanokh for the last darshan, where a huge crowd gathered. In view of the tension prevailing in the area, heavy police force and PAC have been deployed. The administration is continuously appealing to the people to maintain peace.
