GT’s predicted XI for IPL 2026: Gill, Sudharsan lead top order, Buttler form a concern, Rashid key with ball

Gujarat Titans(GT) has been one of the most consistent sides in IPL. The 2022 champions have built a strong core over the years, reaching the final once and staying in contention almost every season.

Only once in the last four editions they failed to qualify for the playoffs. After falling short in the eliminator last year, GT will look to go one step further this time and add another trophy to their cabinet under Shubman Gill.

GT batting lineup has stability and firepower

Shubman Gill (c)

Shubman Gill remains the backbone of this Gujarat side. The skipper has been a workhorse for the team, consistently delivering at the top. Once again, he will be expected to anchor the innings and provide solid starts.

Sai Sudharsan

Sai Sudharsan was the Orange Cap winner last season with 759 runs. He formed a brilliant opening pair with Gill and the duo will once again be key for GT at the top.

Jos Buttler(wk)

At number three, Jos Buttler brings experience and quality. He is currently struggling with bat and had a really poor run in the World Cup. However, he scored over 530 runs last season. This gives him a strong base to bounce back and deliver this year.

Glenn Phillips

Glenn Phillips adds dynamism to the side. A destructive batter and one of the finest fielders in world cricket, he can change the course of a match with his all-round abilities.

Washington Sundar

Washington Sundar offers great balance as a spin all-rounder. He can score crucial runs in the middle and also control the game with his tight bowling.

Shahrukh Khan

Shahrukh Khan is expected to take up the finisher’s role. Known for his power hitting, he scored at a strike rate close to 180 last season, making him a dangerous player in the death overs.

Rahul Tewatia

Rahul Tewatia continues to be a reliable match winner. His ability to handle pressure situations and contribute with both bat and ball makes him a key asset.

An experienced bowling attack

Prasidh Krishna

Prasidh Krishna was outstanding last season with 25 wickets at an average under 20. Though he has been a bit inconsistent in white ball cricket lately, his experience with the franchise could help him deliver again.

Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan continues to be the trump card. One of the finest T20 bowlers in the world, he has 158 IPL wickets and can also provide quick runs down the order which makes him even more dangerous.

Kagiso Rabada

Kagiso Rabada brings pace and aggression. He has had ups and downs in T20s but his ability to swing the ball early in the powerplay makes him a key weapon.

Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj will be another important name in the bowling unit. While his economy was a concern last season and he struggled at times in the death overs, his experience still makes him a strong pick for GT.
