Suffered loss of lakhs for IPL 2026, this player left PSL and joined this team

Playing in IPL is the dream not only of India but also of players from other countries. For the last 18 years, this dream of many players around the world has been coming true. Many players have got recognition by playing in IPL and their international career has also started. Apart from this, crores of rupees are earned from IPL. This is also one of the reasons why players are desperate to play in this league. But there is one player who is ready to bear the loss of lakhs for the sake of playing in IPL. This is Australian fast bowler Spencer Johnson.

Johnson's entry in CSK

Tall left arm fast bowler Spencer Johnson has once again returned to the IPL. Johnson, who has already played for Gujarat Titans and Kolkata Knight Riders, has now joined Chennai Super Kings. On Tuesday, March 24, IPL announced that Spencer Johnson has been signed by CSK. Chennai has included him in its squad as a replacement for Nathan Ellis. Australian pacer Ellis was out even before the start of the season due to injury.

A surprising but interesting thing about this signing is that Johnson is going to suffer a good loss due to signing for Chennai. Actually, in the press release issued by IPL, it has been told that Johnson is joining CSK with a salary of Rs 1.5 crore. This was also the base price of his auction but no one bought him then. Now the question is how and how much loss they are incurring.

Suffered so much loss for IPL

So the thing is that as soon as he got the chance to play in IPL, Spencer Johnson withdrew his name from Pakistan Super League (PSL). He was signed by Quetta Gladiators as a direct signing for PSL 2026 for PKR 5.6 crore. If we look at this amount in Indian rupees, it amounts to Rs 1.87 crore. But in IPL he will get only Rs 1.5 crore. This means they are incurring a loss of Rs 37 lakh due to this step.
