IIT Roorkee has released the syllabus for JEE Advanced 2026. The examination is scheduled to be held on May 17, 2026, and its pattern will remain unchanged.
Significant news has emerged for the millions of students aspiring to become engineers. New information has been released regarding JEE Advanced 2026—one of the country’s most rigorous and prestigious examinations. This time, the organizing institute, IIT Roorkee, has officially released the syllabus.
Most notably, no changes have been made to the examination pattern. For students who have been preparing for a long time, this news comes as a significant relief; they will not need to alter the direction of their preparation.
When will the exam be held?
The JEE Advanced 2026 examination will be conducted on May 17, 2026. The exam will be held across various centers nationwide in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. As in previous years, the examination will consist of two papers conducted on the same day.
It is mandatory for students to attempt both papers. If a candidate attempts only one paper, their result will not be considered valid. Therefore, it is crucial to appear for both papers on the day of the examination with full preparation.
Examination Timings
On the day of the exam, the two papers will be conducted at different times.
The first paper will run from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The second paper will be held from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
Both papers will feature questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. While the number and type of questions may vary slightly each year, the fundamental structure of the examination will remain the same.
What’s Special About the Syllabus?
The syllabus released by IIT Roorkee includes the same key topics that were covered in previous years. This implies that students do not need to chase after new textbooks or new subjects. Students who are already preparing can continue their studies based on their existing notes, textbooks, and previous years’ question papers. This approach can further strengthen their preparation.
Why This Comes as a Relief to Students
The fact that there have been no changes to the examination pattern is being viewed as a major relief for students. Typically, whenever the pattern changes, students are compelled to devise new strategies, which often leads to increased stress.
However, that is not the case this time. Students can now enhance their preparation without any confusion. They can solve past papers, take mock tests, and work on addressing their areas of weakness.
