Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri on Friday said that while the global situation remains “in flux,” the Indian government is actively monitoring developments in energy, supply chains, and essential commodities in real-time.
In a post on X, Puri stated that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the uninterrupted availability of fuel, energy, and other critical supplies across the country.
“We are fully prepared to handle emerging challenges,” he added, highlighting India’s track record of resilience amid global uncertainties and its commitment to acting in a timely, proactive, and coordinated manner.
Addressing recent rumors, Puri categorically dismissed speculation about a nationwide lockdown, calling it “completely false” and confirming that no such proposal is under consideration.
He also urged citizens to stay calm, responsible, and united, warning that spreading misinformation or panic during uncertain times is irresponsible and harmful.
