PSL 2026 has started and in this tournament, Pakistan Cricket Board has made a rule which is quite different. Through this rule, an attempt is being made to stop the advantage given to one team in the matches being held in Dew. In fact, in whatever day-night matches will be held in Pakistan Super League, the team batting later is going to have the advantage. Because the pitch is a little dry in the evening, the ball gets gripped and reaches the batsman, which makes it difficult to play big shots. At the same time, it is easier for the batting team to play in the evening because dew falls on the pitch due to which the ball comes directly on the bat. To stop this, a rule has been made to give two teams before the toss in Pakistan Super League.

Unique rule of Pakistan Super League

According to the new rules of Pakistan Super League, in the day-night match, the captains of both the teams will make a list of their two teams and submit it to the match referee. After this there will be a toss and accordingly they will choose one sheet. Meaning, the team will have the freedom to choose the team in case of batting first or batting later. PCB official said that this rule has been made to create balance in the game. Especially in Lahore and Karachi, the effect of dew is very severe, due to which the bowling team suffers losses. However, this was not seen in the first match.

The chasing team won the first match of PSL.

The effect of dew was not visible in the first match played in Lahore. The chasing team Hyderabad Kingsmen lost badly to Lahore Qalandars. Batting first, Lahore Qalandars team scored 199 runs. Fakhar Zaman played an inning of 53 runs and Hasibullah Khan played an unbeaten inning of 40 runs. In reply, Hyderabad team could score only 130 runs. Captain Marnus Labuschagne scored the maximum of 26 runs but no other batsman of his team could reach even 20 runs. Haris Rauf, Sikandar Raza and Ubaid Shah took 2-2 wickets for Lahore Qalandars. Mustafizur Rahman and Shaheen Afridi got 1 wicket each.
