Udupi: Despite a weather department forecast indicating the possibility of rainfall along the coastal region, no such signs were observed in Udupi district on Friday, with high temperatures recorded throughout the day.
The temperature ranged between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius from the morning and rose to around 34 degrees Celsius in the afternoon. However, the heat was felt to be as high as 40 degrees Celsius.
Light rain had been recorded in some parts of the district two days earlier, but no rainfall was observed on Friday. While there were cloudy conditions in the mornings a few days ago, the weather has now changed completely.
The number of tourists along the coastal areas also saw a decline. A few visitors from outside the district were seen taking a dip in the sea before leaving.
Even though it was a Friday, the number of visitors at temples was reported to be low. The weather department has stated that while there is still a possibility of rain, the temperature levels are also rising.
