TMC’s charge sheet against BJP in Kolkata was released by MPs Mahua Moitra, Kirti Azad and Bratya Basu. During this, TMC sought answers from Amit Shah on the caste violence in Manipur, saying that this northeastern state has been ‘shedding blood’ for the last three years. The party alleged that the BJP wants to blur the line between Bengalis and Bangladeshis, so that it can implement its hate-filled ‘detention camp’ model modeled on Assam in Bengal as well.
At the press conference, TMC leader Bratya Basu said, “Today, India’s Union Home Minister Amit Shah came here and as per the party’s pre-announced programme, presented a charge sheet against the TMC… Today we are sitting here to answer the same. But from whom should the charge sheet be demanded? Who should be talked to about accountability? Who will demand the charge sheet in the case of Haren Pandya? In the case of Judge Brijgopal Harkishan Loya.” Who will demand accountability? You are presenting a chargesheet against TMC. However, your own ministry’s report shows that Uttar Pradesh is the most unsafe state, followed by BJP-ruled states. Meanwhile, we are still waiting for our dues. Are.”
TMC MP Mahua Moitra said, “I would like to say that when a clown sits on the throne, he does not become a king; rather the palace becomes a circus. That is exactly what has happened. In this sequence, we all had to face an ironic and ridiculous scene… the Honorable Home Minister of India issued a charge sheet against the people of Bengal itself. BJP, wherever it is in power—and all its leaders including the Home Minister—we Bengalis (we All those sitting in this room have been calling us ‘Bangladeshis’ and assaulting us. Today, you have declared every Bengali a criminal, then you have declared us criminals, and now, I will not give any reply to any charge sheet issued by Mr. Shah… This is the same Amit Shah, who was declared a ‘fugitive’ by a special court of his own state…”
