Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Shabbir Ahmed Lone Arrested: Security agencies have achieved a major success against terrorism. The special team of Delhi Police has arrested a terrorist of terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The terrorist has been identified as Shabbir Ahmed Lone. Terrorist Shabbir was the handler of the Lashkar-e-Taiba module recently caught in the Metro poster case. Terrorist Shabbir Ahmed Lone was sitting in Bangladesh and preparing a new module of Lashkar on the instructions of Pakistani intelligence agency ISI.
According to the investigating agencies, Shabbir Ahmed Lone is to the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). He has been in direct contact with terrorists like Lashkar chief Hafiz Saeed and Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi.
This module was getting funding and support from Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI. Operating from Bangladesh, Lone used to recruit and brainwash terrorists in India. Illegal Bangladeshi citizens were targeted and radicalized. Also, fake documents (like Aadhaar card) were made and hidden in India. Contact was maintained through encrypted apps. Reiki was also conducted in Delhi and other cities.
Anti-India posters were put up
Recently, Lashkar modules were busted in Delhi and South India. This module had put up anti-India posters at many places in Delhi and Kolkata. Delhi Police Special and Central agencies have achieved great success. Investigative agencies believe that this module was preparing for major terrorist attacks in India. There was a plan to target sensitive areas like Red Fort. Officials say that Shabbir Ahmed Lone is an old and trained terrorist operative, who tried to set up a terrorist network in India with the support of ISI and Lashkar-e-Taiba while sitting in Bangladesh.
Has served 11 years sentence in Tihar
Shabbir Ahmed Lone was arrested by the Special Cell in the year 2007 with a huge cache of arms and ammunition (including AK-47 and grenades). After this he remained lodged in Tihar jail till 2018. At the time of his arrest in 2007, Shabbir had direct links with Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief terrorist Hafiz Saeed and his deputy Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi. Shabbir has received Daura-e-Aam (Basic Training) and Daura-e-Khas (Advanced Training) from LeT camp in Muzaffarabad, Pakistan.
