Tiger Woods has received an apology from US broadcaster NBC after they aired images of the wrong car following the golf star's crash and arrest last Friday.
Woods, 50, was involved in a vehicle incident and later arrested on DUI charges following the 'high-speed' SUV crash. He tried to overtake a truck and trailer on a residential road and clipped the back of the vehicle. It caused Woods' vehicle to tip onto its side in the latest of the crashes he has been involved in over the years.
And, as NBC presenter Dan Hicks addressed details of Woods' arrest in Florida, footage from his 2021 crash in California appeared on screen instead. That incident saw the 15-time major champion, who had to be cut out of the wreckage by LA County Police, sustain several leg injuries and he required surgery to fix the severe damage caused.

Viewers were quick to point out the error on social media. One said: "Well done NBC Sports. The video you just showed of Tiger Woods vehicle was not from his accident yesterday. Come on, do better."
Another posted: "Okay, NBC, you're terrible. I just watched an update about Tiger Woods car wreck yesterday. All you did was show damage from his wreck six years ago. Nothing about the minor wreck yesterday. Despicable."
A third wrote: "Sad sad day that NBC starts golf coverage with the arrest of Tiger Woods using THE VIDEOS OF HIS PREVIOUS ROLLOVER ACCIDENT FROM CALIFORNIA! Wasn’t the pics from yesterday gruesome enough for the sensationalism? Come on USA media, DO BETTER!"
A fourth viewer added, "NBC intern just pulled up the first Tiger Woods crash result on Google and hit play. Quality control at its finest."
Now NBC have issued an apology for showing the footage from five years ago and not that from the recent crash last Friday.
"We want to take this time to make a correction. Before we came on the air today with our regular PGA Tour coverage.... our studio show inadvertently showed the incorrect picture of the car crash Tiger Woods was in," Hicks said in footage that was later clipped and circulated on social media.
Hicks added: "It was another previous car crash. It was not the correct one. The latest one, that was yesterday, so, we apologise for that. Just wanted to straighten that out before we go any further."
After Woods was arrested, he was taken to the Martin County Jail in Florida, where he was charged with two misdemeanours of DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to lawful test.
Officers observed "signs of impairment" in Woods' behaviour, allegedly caused by "some type of medication or drug". He was cleared of alcohol consumption after taking a breathalyser test, but Woods refused to provide a urine sample to test for other substances.
But despite his arrest and crash, Woods is still scheduled for an appearance at the Masters at Augusta, which is set start on Thursday, April 9 and run through to Sunday, April 12.
Woods made his last professional appearance at the 2024 Open Championship.
