Amid falling rupee, AI becomes support, students studying abroad are earning like this

Indian students studying abroad are now adopting new ways of earning to meet their expenses. The main reason for this is the increasing expenses and the falling value of the rupee, due to which the financial help from home is no longer the same as before. In such a situation, students are rapidly moving away from traditional part-time jobs towards digital and online work.

According to the ET report, where earlier students used to work in cafes, retail stores or restaurants, now they are doing work like tuition, designing, coding, social media management, content writing, video editing. Many students are also earning money by doing research inside the university or by helping other students. The increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has further accelerated this change, giving students more opportunities to work from home and balance their studies.

Expenses increased due to falling rupee

However, the rules for working of students are fixed in different countries. In the US and UK, students can generally work up to 20 hours a week, while in Canada this limit is set at 24 hours and in Australia, this limit is set at 48 hours every two weeks. Despite these rules, students are looking for such options which will give them a chance to earn more while staying within the rules. The weakness of the rupee has made studying abroad more expensive. There has been a continuous decline in the rupee against the dollar, due to which the fees and living expenses have increased. This is especially affecting those students who are studying by taking education loan from India. According to experts, the average education loan taken for studying abroad has also increased in recent years, which has further increased the financial pressure on families.

Earning through these methods

In such a situation, students are moving towards new ways of earning, like affiliate marketing, earning from social media, creating user content and online reselling. Apart from this, they are applying for scholarships in advance, choosing universities as per their budget and pursuing courses that can lead to better job opportunities. It has now become necessary to build a network in advance for campus jobs and assistantships.

AI and freelancing platforms have opened new doors of earning for students. Now they are earning well through AI related work, prompt engineering and digital skills. Apart from this, some students are also adopting unique methods, like participating in clinical trials, taking care of pets, working with foreign families or buying old things and selling them online. Some students also earn money by renting out their hostel rooms during holidays. Today's student is not limited to just working according to time, but is trying to earn maximum income by using his skills and digital platforms. This changing thinking is helping them to manage amid increasing expenses and economic pressure.
