For many, traveling to Saudi Arabia may not always be a positive experience, as reports indicate that individuals, including men, often face exploitation at the hands of local sheikhs. This was starkly highlighted when an Indian woman managed to escape from captivity and returned home, revealing the harrowing details of her ordeal. After enduring severe mistreatment, she bravely reported her experiences to the authorities upon her return.
In today's fast-paced world, placing trust in others has become increasingly challenging. The woman in question made a significant mistake by agreeing to go to Saudi Arabia, believing it would bring joy to her family. Her family was struggling financially, and her husband was unable to travel due to health issues. Consequently, she insisted on going instead, and through an agent, she reached Saudi Arabia.
Initially, she was housed comfortably by a sheikh, but soon her situation deteriorated. She recounted that she was forced to eat from dirty dishes and was subjected to continuous abuse, receiving only three hours of sleep each day. If she failed to wake up on time, she was often kicked awake by the housekeeper, and even the sheikh's children attempted to exploit her.
Her condition worsened, and she was treated like an animal, isolated from her family and unable to communicate with them. Despite her constant tears and pleas for help, no one came to her aid.
Concerned about his wife's well-being, her husband approached the agent to inquire about her condition, but the agent repeatedly evaded the questions. Eventually, the husband sought police assistance, leading to an investigation that uncovered the agent's scheme of luring women to the Arab world for profit. Once the police were informed, they traced the sheikhs involved and, with the help of the Indian embassy, successfully liberated the woman.
