Emmerdale is poised to delve into Graham Foster's link to Coronation Street's Jodie Ramsey, as the secrets surrounding their shared history continue to unfold.
ITV soap devotees have been kept guessing about the background to how Graham (Andrew Scarborough) came to have Jodie (Olivia Frances-Brown) held captive in the back of his van during the Corriedale episode, which was broadcast in January.
When Graham spotted Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) amongst the chaos of the motorway pile-up, he abandoned Jodie and the van unattended, affording her the chance to flee.
Upon discovering Jodie had disappeared, Graham made an enigmatic phone call, informing whoever was on the other end that she had escaped. He also confirmed that he was "terminating their contract".
Meanwhile, Jodie was discovered by DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), who ensured she received hospital treatment, where she encountered her half-sister, Shona Platt (Julia Goulding), before subsequently relocating to Weatherfield, reports The Daily Star.
Emmerdale spoilers now reveal that Graham will endure a shocking assault as former flame Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) rushes to his aid.
The tension escalates next week when a suspicious Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) tails his wife, Rhona, to Home Farm after catching her in a lie about a house visit.
She swiftly comes to Graham's assistance, following an attack by a gang connected to the termination of a contract. Could these thugs be linked to Jodie's getaway?
The unexpected intimacy between Graham and Rhona brings them perilously close to kissing, with a devastated Marlon watching the encounter from the shadows. Unable to hold back any longer, Marlon confronts Rhona over whether she still has feelings for Graham. The vet attempts to explain her emotions to her husband, but will she end up breaking his heart?
"The fact that Jodie got away means that Graham failed in his mission," Zoe Henry, who plays Rhona, told Digital Spy.
"He's been lying low since, but when Rhona asked him to help find Dylan recently, Graham ended up exposing where he was - so the people that he'd been working for came to find him to teach him a lesson..."
Graham's ordeal may shed light on some of his enigmatic ties to Jodie, yet the complete picture remains elusive following Graham's return from the dead after a six-year absence.
