Kangana Ranaut is all set to return to the big screen as her much-loved character Rani. The actress will reportedly begin shooting for Queen 2 by the end of April, marking a comeback to one of her most iconic roles.

The 2014 film Queen, directed by Vikas Bahl, was a major success at the box office and earned Kangana a National Award for her performance. Since then, there have been ongoing discussions about a sequel, and now, as per a report in Mid-Day, the much-awaited second installment is finally set to go on floors by April-end.

According to a source, Rani’s character in the sequel will evolve into someone who is smart, strong, and quirky. “But a plot point will send her on the road of self-discovery. It will show how she conquers life through her individuality, self-realisation, and courage,” the source added.

While the first film saw Rani travelling to Paris and Amsterdam, the sequel is expected to explore various cities across India, giving the story a more rooted and diverse backdrop.

The report further states that the shoot will commence in a studio in Mumbai, where a set resembling a North Indian city will be constructed. After completing the Mumbai schedule, the team will move to other metro cities. The film is expected to be wrapped up in a start-to-finish schedule of approximately three months.

Kangana was last seen in Emergency (2025) and has been actively involved in her political career. However, fans have eagerly been waiting to see her return to cinema, and Queen 2 seems to be the perfect project to mark her comeback.
