Kangana Ranaut is set to reprise her iconic role in the much-awaited sequel to her 2014 hit film ‘Queen’. According to reports, ‘Queen 2’ is expected to go on floors by the end of April.
The original film, directed by Vikas Bahl, was widely loved by audiences and featured actors like Rajkummar Rao and Lisa Haydon. Over a decade later, the sequel is now in the works, creating excitement among fans.
Queen 2 Story: A New Journey Of Self-Discovery
As per a Mid-Day report, the sequel will not directly continue the storyline of the 2014 film. Instead, it will introduce a fresh narrative while retaining the core theme of self-discovery and independence.
In Queen 2, Kangana Ranaut’s character Rani will be portrayed as a city girl, a shift from her earlier depiction as a small-town girl. The character will be shown as smart and strong, but she will eventually embark on a journey of self-exploration.
Unlike the first film, where Rani travels solo to Paris, the sequel will focus on her journey within India.
Reports also suggest that members of the original cast may return for the sequel. The film is expected to begin shooting in a Mumbai studio, with the story set across various North Indian cities.
Kangana Ranaut’s Upcoming Projects
Kangana was last seen in Emergency 2025, where she portrayed former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. She also directed and produced the film.
Apart from Queen 2 Kangana has an untitled psychological thriller in the pipeline and will also be seen in Bharat Bhagya Vidhata.
