A 'hilarious' series featuring Zendaya in an early, lesser-known role is now available to stream on ITVX.

Before she captivated audiences in programmes like Euphoria and films such as The Drama or indeed the Spider-Man franchise, the actress headlined her own sitcom.

It represented one of her first significant roles for the Disney Channel and now fans can rediscover it themselves.

K.C. Undercover originally broadcast between 2015 and 2018 across three seasons in total.

Now, all 29 episodes of the first season have been added to the diverse selection available on ITVX at no additional charge. Those wishing to binge the complete series will require a subscription to Disney+.

In K.C. Undercover, Zendaya portrays high-school pupil K.C. Cooper. A mathematics prodigy with a black belt in karate.

An ordinary teenager otherwise, her life transforms when her parents, Craig and Kira, recruit her as a spy for a clandestine government agency called The Organization.

Alongside her parents and younger siblings Ernie and Judy, with the latter being a humanoid robot, K.C. must juggle a civilian life with covert missions intended to save the world.

As K.C. conducts espionage, she must conceal the newfound profession from best friend Marisa , reports the Mirror.

Zendaya was merely 16 when she committed to appearing in the series and was already demonstrating her star power.

Also appointed co-producer, she requested a title change from the original name (Super Awesome Katy) and insisted that the actors cast as her on-screen family members were black.

Discussing her aspirations for the project at the time, Zendaya expressed: "Young women are able to look at the screen and see that they can be anything, that they can do it all. A little boy can look up to a girl and say, 'I want to be like this girl,' and that's awesome."

One critic, reflecting on the series, labelled it as "ground breaking in its own right."

Years following its initial release, with its star engaging in more mature projects, the show still receives accolades from fans. Many argue it remains worth watching, with both children and young adults finding something to appreciate.

One devoted fan shared online: "I absolutely love watching K.C. Undercover! I've seen every episode. I love how it combines extremely zany silliness with plots that keep you glued to the TV hanging on every moment to see what's going to happen next.

"It's fantastic! It's a kids show but I think older teens might find it enjoyable too as well as some adults like myself. It's a pretty well rounded show."

Another contributed: "This is the best Disney show ever. It's way better than the old Disney show Kim Possible! We have way more action! It's way more entertaining. If you don't like K.C. Undercover then your lost! Because this is so amazing!"

K.C. Undercover is streaming on ITVX and Disney+.
