Hanuman Janmotsav 2026: Tomorrow is Hanuman Jayanti and its preparations are going on in full swing everywhere. In many places Akhand Ramayana, Sundar Kand are recited and at many places Bhog-Bhandara is also organised. On this auspicious occasion, it is considered very auspicious to offer home-made juicy Bundi to please Lord Hanuman. If you also want to make perfect boondi like halwai, then know this easy recipe.

Material

Gram flour – 1 cup
Water – for batter
Sugar – 1 cup
Water (for syrup) – ½ cup
Cardamom powder – ½ tsp
Saffron
food coloring
Ghee or oil – for frying

Method

  1. First of all filter the gram flour. Gradually add water to it and make a smooth and thin batter (not too thick, not too thin). If you want, you can add light yellow color.
  2. Add sugar and water in a pan and boil. Prepare 1 string syrup. Add cardamom powder and saffron in it.
  3. Heat ghee/oil in a pan. Pour the batter on a ladle with holes and fry round boondi. Fry the boondi until slightly crisp (do not brown too much).
  4. Immediately put the hot boondi in the hot syrup. Let it soak for 10-15 minutes so that it becomes juicy.

Tips for perfect boondi

  1. There should be no lumps in the batter.
  2. The syrup should neither be too thin nor too thick.
  3. Do not fry the boondi for too long, otherwise it will not remain soft.
  4. Put only fresh and hot boondi in the syrup.
