The Delhi High Court has mandated the immediate restoration of the parody account "Dr. Nimo Yadav," operated by petitioner Pratik Sharma, on social media platforms. A similar ruling was issued for the parody account 'Nehar Hoon,' managed by Kumar Nayan. Justice Purushendra Kumar Kaurav delivered this order while hearing the petitions filed by Sharma and Nayan. However, Kaurav noted that certain posts deemed objectionable by the government will remain blocked for the time being.

Reports indicate that Sharma has been instructed to appear before a review committee to assess whether these posts should continue to be blocked. The court also issued a comparable directive regarding the 'Nehar Hoon' account. Justice Kaurav emphasized the need for this review during the proceedings concerning the petitions filed by Sharma and Nayan.

Dr. Nimo Yadav and Nehar Hoon are among twelve accounts that were blocked on March 19 under directives from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeiTY). Sharma challenged the government's decision to block his parody account, requesting the blocking order. The government responded by stating that the account was blocked due to its dissemination of false information related to the Prime Minister, which misrepresented facts. The government characterized the posts from Dr. Nimo Yadav's account as defamatory, claiming they utilized images, videos, and AI-manipulated content to create controversial posts that questioned the government and defamed Prime Minister Modi. The order further stated that spreading such misinformation could disrupt public order and pose a threat to internal security.
