Usually the government revises dearness allowance twice a year—in January and July. The DA increase, which will be effective from January 2026, is announced in the month of March or April. Similarly, the salary of officers with a basic salary of ₹56,900 will increase by ₹2,276 per month. Along with DA, there is a possibility of change in House Rent Allowance (HRA) and other allowances, which is no less than a big gift for government employees.
