The 15th match of IPL 2026 was played between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on 9 April at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The match was very exciting. At one time it seemed that KKR would easily win this match but Mukul Chaudhary changed the whole game. He performed brilliantly and helped LSG win by 3 wickets.
With this defeat, the condition of KKR has worsened as the team has not been able to win a single match in IPL 2026 yet. Kolkata is at ninth place in the points table with three losses and one point from four matches. This is Lucknow’s second consecutive win in IPL 2026. After this win, LSG is at fifth position in the points table with 4 points.
Kolkata Knight Riders innings
After losing the toss, Kolkata was invited to bat first. KKR had a slow start and between 1 and 6 overs the team scored only 56 runs losing 1 wicket. After this the team could not score much runs in the middle overs and also lost wickets. Between 7 and 15 overs, Kolkata scored 59 runs losing 3 wickets. However, Kolkata made a comeback in the death overs and scored 66 runs without losing any wicket between 16 and 20 overs. Due to which KKR was able to score 181 runs after losing 4 wickets in 20 overs.
For KKR, Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored the highest score of 45 runs, while captain Ajinkya Rahane scored 41 runs. Rovman Powell scored 39 not out and Cameron Green scored 32 not out. Whereas for LSG, Manimaran Siddharth, Avesh Khan, Digvesh Singh Rathi and Prince Yadav took one wicket each.
Lucknow Super Giants innings
LSG had a worse start than KKR. This happened because Lucknow scored 56 runs after losing two wickets in the powerplay. After this, Lucknow made a comeback in the middle overs and scored 71 runs after losing 4 wickets between 7 and 15 overs. The team lost one wicket in the death overs but Mukul Chaudhary played a brilliant innings and scored 55 runs between 16 and 20 overs. In this way the match went till the last ball and LSG scored 182 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Lucknow won this match by 3 wickets.
Ayush Badoni and Mukul Chaudhary played brilliant innings for LSG. Badoni scored 54 runs, while Mukul Chaudhary remained unbeaten on 54 runs. Whereas, Vaibhav Arora and Anukul Roy took two wickets each for KKR. Sunil Narine, Karthik Tyagi and Cameron Green took one wicket each.
