RPSC RAS Recruitment 2024: The RAS and Subordinate Services recruitment drive for 2024, conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), has now reached its final stage. For the lakhs of candidates who have been awaiting this examination for a long time, there is great news: the interview process is nearly complete, and the final results are expected to be released very soon. It is anticipated that the list of selected candidates could be published by the end of April.
**Recruitment for 1,096 Posts; New Officers to Join Soon**
A total of 1,096 vacancies will be filled through this recruitment examination, comprising 428 posts in the State Services and 628 posts in the Subordinate Services. Once the interviews conclude, the state will gain a new cohort of officers who will further strengthen the administrative machinery.
**Ninth Phase of Interviews Underway**
The RPSC has completed eight phases of interviews so far, and the ninth phase is currently in progress, scheduled to continue until April 17. During this phase, interviews are being conducted for the remaining candidates. This constitutes the final and most critical stage of the selection process, following which the merit list is prepared.
**Understanding the Complete Recruitment Timeline**
This recruitment drive commenced in September 2024. Initially, a notification was issued for 733 vacancies, a figure that was subsequently increased to 1,096. The application window remained open from September 19 to October 18. Subsequently, the Preliminary Examination was held on February 2, 2025, and—in a remarkably short span of just 18 days—the results were declared on February 20. The Main Examination was conducted in June, and its results were released in October. The interview process is now in its concluding phase.
**Lakhs of Students Appeared for the Exam**
A total of over 675,000 candidates registered for the RAS 2024 examination. Of these, approximately 375,000 candidates appeared for the Preliminary Examination. 21,539 candidates were shortlisted for the Main Examination, while ultimately, 2,461 candidates advanced to the interview stage. From this group, 1,096 candidates will be selected for final appointment. Selection Process May Conclude Early This Time
Typically, the RAS recruitment process spans two to three years; however, this time around, the Commission has completed all stages on schedule. Consequently, there is optimism that the recruitment drive will conclude sooner than usual, leading to the speedy appointment of candidates.
What Happens After the Results?
Once the final results are declared, the list of selected candidates will be forwarded to the State Government. This will be followed by their medical examinations and document verification. Upon the completion of all these formalities, the candidates will be assigned postings across various government departments.
Thousands of Families Await the Results
The hopes of thousands of families linked to this examination now rest entirely on the outcome of the results. Candidates have reached this pivotal stage after years of arduous effort. As such, the month of April could potentially bring a bounty of joy for them.
