New Delhi. After the Women’s Reservation Bill was not passed in the Lok Sabha, Congress leaders on Sunday protested against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the nation. Congress leader Alka Lamba was also present at the protest site. This demonstration took place after PM Modi’s address to the nation on Saturday. PM Modi had talked about the 131st Constitution Amendment Bill, the purpose of which was to implement women’s reservation. But this bill could not be passed in the Lok Sabha, because the India Alliance refused to support the delimitation structure associated with it.

Congress leader Ragini Nayak asked a question to PM Modi that why is the integrity of the country being attacked by taking advantage of women’s reservation and using delimitation as a weapon? He said that the biggest objective of today’s protest is to ask why PM Modi has not already taken any concrete steps on women’s reservation. Why is the Women’s Reservation Bill passed in 2023 pending on the basis of delimitation and census? Why is it being postponed till 2034? Why is the integrity and unity of the country being attacked by taking advantage of women’s reservation and using delimitation as a weapon? PM Modi’s address to the nation was ridiculous. This was a conspiracy against Congress.

Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda also criticized the BJP, alleging that the party’s attitude shows anti-women intentions and that women are being misled on the issue. Congress MP Hooda said that the way BJP has tried to fool women, its anti-women intentions are clearly visible. Their real objective was to impose delimitations in the name of women’s reservation. The Congress party will not sit peacefully until women’s reservation is implemented in the country. Speaking during the protest, Congress MP JB Mather alleged that the ruling party was trying to create a false narrative on women empowerment. He said that PM Modi has been leading the country since 2014. Many years have passed from 2014 to 2026. The women of India have been cheated. This government is not serious about women’s reservation. PM Narendra Modi is just trying to create a narrative that he is in favor of women. Actually they are not in favor of women. They are against women.
