He said that in a country where women are given the status of Mother Goddess, women are deprived of their own rights. TV’s ‘Anupama’ has posted a video on Instagram in which she is expressing her grief over the non-passing of the Women’s Reservation Amendment Bill and is talking openly about the mistreatment of women for centuries. The actress says that there have always been attempts to limit women and the same happened in the House too.
In the video, the actress says, it is with a heavy heart that I have to say that in a country where Mother Goddess is worshipped, women do not have rights. Women have been deprived of their rights for the past several decades and it is not known how long they will remain so. What was in that bill, not only that women’s participation in Parliament would increase, seats would be reserved for them. For so many years only promises have been made, but no work.
Rupali Ganguly further said, “The opposition did not want women to come to the House and help take the country forward. Because of a few people not voting, women did not get their rights again.”
The actress also mentioned her serial Anupama. He wrote, “Anupama heard “You just take care of the house” many times in her life and this was told to 70 crore women in the Parliament too. We don’t forget, we don’t forgive quickly and we also know how to vote.” Users are also supporting Rupali Ganguly’s post. Users say that due to lack of some votes the wait of 30 years has increased further.
