A dominant win turned into a viral moment, thanks to Arshdeep Singh who grabbed attention not just for his bowling but also for his humour. After Punjab Kings defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 54 runs, the pacer posted a reel that quickly spread across social media.
Using the popular Lucknow slogan “Muskuraiye, aap Lucknow mein hain”, Arshdeep added his own twist: “Ghabraiye, aap Mullanpur mein hain”, referring to the match venue in New Chandigarh. The playful jab came right after Punjab’s commanding performance on Sunday, April 19, in the Indian Premier League 2026.

The match itself was a run-fest led by young stars. Priyansh Arya, a 24-year cricketer from Delhi, played a sensational knock of 93 off just 37 balls. He found strong support from Cooper Connolly, who smashed 87 off 45 deliveries. Together, they powered Punjab Kings to a massive 254/7 in 20 overs.
Chasing such a huge total, Lucknow started well with 61 runs in the Powerplay but couldn’t keep up the momentum. They eventually finished at 200/5. Captain Rishabh Pant scored 43 off 23 balls while Mitchell Marsh added 40 off 28, but their efforts were not enough against Punjab’s explosive batting.

With the ball, Arshdeep Singh conceded 41 runs in four overs but picked up the important wicket of Rishabh Pant. Vyshak Vijaykumar impressed with figures of 1/30, using clever variations to trouble both Mitchell Marsh and Rishabh Pant.
Once those key wickets fell, the result was never in doubt. Led by Shreyas Iyer, Punjab Kings comfortably sealed the game and continue their push to improve on their runner-up finish in 2025.
