Tim Cook, who has been at the helm of Apple for nearly 15 years, is leaving the post of CEO. John Ternes will be the new CEO of Apple from September 1. Ternes, 50, currently heads Apple’s hardware unit.
Under the leadership of Cook, who became CEO after the death of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs in 2011, Apple created new records of success. During this period, the market valuation of the company reached 4 trillion dollars. He reduced the company’s dependence on China for manufacturing and concentrated it on a country like India. Cook will take over the role of executive chairman from September.
