ITV has today (April 22) announced a brand new reality series documenting Rebekah Vardy and her well-known family as they embark on a new life in Italy.

The forthcoming series, entitled The Vardys, will chart the lives of Rebekah, husband Jamie and their four children as they prepare for a fresh start abroad following Jamie's departure from Leicester City after 13 years.

The show will open with his emotional farewell match while also showcasing Rebekah's considerable efforts to keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

The series will not shy away from revisiting the now notorious Wagatha Christie trial, which saw Rebekah embroiled in a high-profile legal battle with fellow WAG Coleen Rooney. Viewers can also expect "frantic house-hunts, tearful school searches, unexpected disasters and dramatic setbacks, all while Jamie battles to prove his doubters wrong on the pitch."

ITV's official synopsis teases: "After a difficult and dramatic five years in the UK, Rebekah is ready for the next chapter - but uprooting and moving to Italy with four kids (plus a superstar footballer husband) is not exactly what she had in mind.

"As she manages the emotional and physical upheaval of the new move, she reflects on her recent challenges in the UK, intent on putting the 'Wagatha' drama behind her and focusing on an exciting new chapter."

The "no-holds-barred" series is yet to receive a confirmed release date, though audiences can anticipate it arriving later this year, broadcasting on ITV1 and available to stream via ITVX, reports the Daily Record.

The Vardys will be available to stream on ITVX later this year, though an exact release date is yet to be announced.
