Hundreds of ITV viewers headed straight to Ofcom to complain about David Haye's treatment of Adam Thomas on I'm A Celebrity... South Africa. Tensions flared between the pair before David's exit from camp on Monday night. Many fans accused the boxer, 45, of bullying the former Emmerdale star, 37, during scenes that aired last week on April 17. 171 viewers lodged complaints with the broadcasting regulator, while many fans online believed David should have been removed for his behaviour.

One said: "I honestly think if someone is bullied or victimised as badly as Adam was then they should be removed, if u keep them in like David was that could have such a bad effect on Adam when he gets out, its such a killer man." Another fumed: "@ImACeleb Why didn't you kick David Haye out when he was bullying Adam? What a great example that would have set towards bullies, but you bottled it."

A third echoed: "Glad Adam's speaking up for himself now. David haye is a d**k and he's taken it way too far. No need for it at all, a bully looking for someone to pick on and chose one of the happiest people in there. Poor Adam looks drained."

Their first clash came after Adam snuck in a sweet treat for the Lions team after the Rhinos enjoyed a buffet. David complained that the chocolate tasted horrible and described it as an "empty gesture".

David was further enraged after he took part in Retching Ball with Craig Charles, as two of their meals were deducted from their seven-star win due to Adam's rule break.

The following day, Adam woke up in camp and admitted to everyone that he wouldn't be taking part in that day's trial because he wasn't feeling well.

The Waterloo Road star was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis in 2023 and admitted he struggled to hide the pain while in camp.

Adam admitted he would easily get 10 stars in the trial, but suggested Ashley Roberts should do it because it was her birthday and she nominated herself.

David hit back: "Are you that guy that palms it off on a girl on her birthday?"

When Adam acknowledged it would be amazing if she came back with 10 stars, David exclaimed: "I think it would be amazing if you got off your a**e and did something instead of stop chatting s**t the whole time. That's what I think would be good."

He continued: "Stop whining about dehydration! You ain't done s**t since you've been here. Dehydrated? We've all got the same amount of water!"

When he declared that Adam should do the trial, Gemma Collins stepped in, reminding everyone that he wasn't feeling well.

David snapped back: "Not well? What's wrong with him? He's a grown a** man!"

He then told the rest of the campmates to give Adam a round of applause as he was "doing something" for the first time.

Adam insisted that he would do it if he was on top form, but that only sparked further retaliation from David.

"Top form... When is your top form going to come?" he asked.

When he once again said that Adam should do the trial and questioned why they weren't forcing him, Scarlett Moffatt interjected: "Stop it, David! He's not well."

The boxer showed no signs of backing down, adding: "Coincidentally when there's something to do, he's not feeling well."

After the scenes aired, Adam took to social media and revealed that while David has since apologised to him, the athlete's behaviour "broke him".
