Desk. The government has made preparations to further tighten the rules of AI generated content. MeitY has notified about a new change in this rule. For this, feedback has been sought from stakeholders between April 29 and May 7. This new change has been made regarding the labeling of AI content, so that no one tries to confuse people by creating loop-holes in the rules.
MeitY has published a new notice regarding this on Tuesday, in which it has talked about tightening the rules for labeling AI generated content. For this, Rule 3 (3) (a) (ii) of AI generated content has been amended. It says that AI generated content uploaded on social media platforms needs to be labeled. As long as the AI generated content remains on the screen, its label should be clearly visible on the screen.

The government has prepared a Prominent Label Visibility Policy regarding AI generated content. Whether there is a photo on the screen or a video which has been created through AI, it is important to show the label in clear letters on the screen. Although this change may seem small, its significance is big. In such a situation, creators cannot get away with labeling only once. As long as the AI generated content appears on the screen in the form of photos or videos, the labels must be visible with clarity.
The new amendment proposed regarding the change in AI content states that if the AI generated content is displayed on the screen in any form i.e. audio, video, photo or text message, a clear label should be visible as long as the content is visible on the screen. Stakeholders have been asked to submit feedback regarding changes in the rules of this AI generated content by May 7. The government will amend this rule after receiving feedback from stakeholders.
