The One8 Commune restaurant in Bengaluru, that used to be owned by Virat Kohli, has been shut down after a court order. Reports sat that the restaurant did not clear dues of over Rs. 2 crore. This resulted in the court taking action.

Kohli earlier ended ties with the restaurant and withdrawn his brand name. The outlet was located near M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and was facing compliance issues regularly. This includes alleged fire safety violations. There was also a civic body notice for operating without the necessary clearances. That inluded a No Objection Certificate from the fire department.

Things Not Going Well for the Restaurant

As per a report in India Today, the restaurant, that opened for business in 2023 and was operated by Trio Hills Hospitality, had outstanding dues on rent payment more than Rs. 2 crore. It has reportedly also faced losses and shall be closed until the dues are cleared. In June 2025, there was a case under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act due to the absence of a designated smoking area inside. It was also found to be operating over the legal hours.

Back in 2022, Kohli had revamped Kishore Kumar’s Juhu Bungalow ‘Gouri Kunj’ into an outlet of the same restaurant chain. It is still operational and very popular.

Kohli, at the moment, is playing in IPL 2026 as RCB look to retain the title. He has done well so far with 247 runs in six innings at an average of 49.40 and strike rate of 157.32. The 37-year-old has hit two fifties with a top score of 69 not out.

RCB are currently in 3rd place on the points table with four wins and two losses from six games. Their next game is vs GT on April 24. All four Playoffs spots are open and all 10 teams still have a shot with 38 games left to play in the league phase.
