Without Modi Sameer Modi Case Update: Delhi High Court has taken a big decision on Monday in the case of former executive director of Godfrey Phillips India Sameer Modi. The assault case filed by Sameer Modi against his mother Bina Modi, lawyer Lalit Bhasin and mother’s personal security Surendra Prasad has now been canceled by the court. Justice Saurabh Banerjee was told that the disputes between the two parties have now been resolved and Sameer Modi has also withdrawn his complaint. Let us tell you that Lalit Bhasin, mother Bina Modi and Surendra Prasad had approached the Delhi High Court challenging the trial court proceedings in the case filed by Sameer Modi.

While hearing the case, the court had stayed the proceedings in March. Bina Modi, Sameer Modi and Lalit Bhasin attended the High Court hearing on Monday through video conference.

Sameer Modi confirmed

Justice Saurabh Banerjee confirmed to Sameer Modi that no amount has been disclosed. There is no settlement deed. Mr. Modi, you are going to complain. Have you compromised? On this, Sameer Modi confirmed that he has withdrawn his complaint. On this basis, the court canceled the criminal action against Sameer’s mother Bina Modi and Lalit Bhasin. After the incident, Sameer Modi had accused him of assaulting her during a fight. According to him, his finger was fractured and surgery was required.

After receiving the complaint, Delhi Police filed a charge sheet in March 2025. Only the security officer was made an accused in this. It was said that the evidence against Bina Modi and Bhasin was not sufficient. Sameer Modi had challenged this through a protest petition in the court. There was also a demand to include him in the case.

The court took cognizance in February

Taking cognizance of the case, a trial court in February 2026 held that there was sufficient prima facie material to suggest possible involvement or collusion between the accused. During this, the court also emphasized that trial becomes necessary for such material, so that summons can be issued for further action. Senior advocate Rajeev Nayyar appeared on behalf of Beena Modi.

Let us tell you that the Modi family is engaged in a legal battle for control of the business empire. Bina Modi was accused by her son Sameer Modi of mismanaging the family trust. He was also accused of keeping him out of important decisions of the board. Bina Modi has termed these allegations as wrong. The assault case started after Sameer Modi’s complaint. According to the information received, this incident took place on May 30, 2024 at the Jasola office of Godfrey Phillips India. Bhasin also attended that meeting.

Sameer Modi remained in the meeting for 2 hours

Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi appeared in the Delhi High Court on behalf of Bina Modi. His argument was that this matter was completely wrong. He said that Bina Modi and Lalit Bhasin were not part of the alleged scuffle and in fact they had defused the situation by asking Sameer Modi to come to the meeting. Mukul Rohatgi also told that during this time Sameer Modi remained sitting in the meeting for about 2 hours and then went and complained about the alleged attack.

According to the complaint received by the police, Sameer Modi was trying to attend a board meeting of the company. At the same time, his mother Beena’s personal security officer Surendra Prasad stopped him from attending. It was claimed that he was working on his instructions only.
