New Delhi: After her recent heroics in the five-match T20I series against India, South African skipper Laura Wolvaardt has got a big reward in the latest ICC women’s rankings. Wolvaardt rose to her career-best position of world number three with a brilliant performance in the series where she accumulated a total of 330 runs.
South Africa women demolished Indian women in the five T20I matches winning the series 4-1. Wolvaardt played the role of an anchor with a scintillating century in the third game while a trio of half-centuries further stabilised her position to emerge as the best batter from both the teams and earn the Player of the series award.

Wolvaardt gains two positions to number 3
Placed at number five ahead of the series, Wolvaardt occupied the third spot in the batters list dominated by Georgia Voll who’s placed at the number five position. Her performance is critical for South Africa keeping in mind the forthcoming T20 World Cup 2026.
Meanwhile, she is not the only player on the rise following the culmination of the South Africa-India series as Richa Ghosh has also seen a two-slot rise to come to the 22nd place while Sune Luus has jumped 6 places to sit at the 29th place after some fine efforts in the series.
As far as the T20I bowlers is concerned, Pakistan spinner Sadia Iqbal leads the list at the top while Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma has gained one place. South Africa spinner Nonkululeko Mlaba (up two places) is sharing fourth spot ahead of the T20 World Cup.
Outside the top 10, there is a new career-high rating for Indian youngster Shree Charani as the left-armer has gained 12 places to rise to the 11th spot after her two-wicket haul in the final match of the series in Benoni.
