The weather office has predicted a Kalbaishakhi storm right on the day of the second phase of elections. They've issued an orange alert for eight districts in South Bengal, including Kolkata, warning of gusty winds at 50-60 km/h and thunderstorms. 

Today marks the second phase of elections in the state, and a Kalbaishakhi storm might hit Kolkata. The weather office has forecast winds up to 60 km/h for Bengal. Eight districts, including Kolkata, are expected to get heavy rain today. The Alipur Weather Department predicts thunderstorms for today, Wednesday. A storm with winds of 50 to 60 km/h is expected on the second polling day, prompting an orange alert. This alert covers Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, and both North and South 24 Parganas. On Wednesday, the same alert is active for West Medinipur, Bankura, and both East and West Bardhaman. East Bardhaman might see heavy rainfall. Other districts are on yellow alert, with light rain and winds of 40-50 km/h. Kolkata's temperature today will range from a high of 33 degrees to a low of 28 degrees. Some parts of West Medinipur and Hooghly could get heavy rain on Wednesday. Thunderstorms are also likely in Kolkata, North 24 Parganas, Howrah, Hooghly, West Medinipur, East Bardhaman, and Bankura. The stormy weather is set to continue across all districts of South Bengal until Saturday. Over the sea, gusty winds could reach speeds of up to 60 km/h.
