Your Jio Number Could Also Get Deactivated! Here Are Affordable Recharge Plans to Keep Your SIM Active..

If you use a Jio SIM card as a secondary connection, you must know that the company has now begun deactivating SIM cards that have remained inactive for an extended period. According to reports, many Reliance Jio users have started noticing that their numbers are being disconnected without prior notice. This primarily affects individuals who have not recharged their numbers for a long time. As per TRAI regulations, if a user fails to recharge their number for 90 days, the telecom operator is authorized to deactivate that number.

In the absence of any activity for 90 days, the operator may levy a charge of up to ₹20 to extend the validity of the number by another 30 days. If you have an existing talk-time balance of ₹20 on your number, the company may deduct this amount to extend your validity by 30 days. Following this, a grace period of 15 days is provided to reactivate the number. However, if you do not have a balance of ₹20, your number will enter the grace period, after which it will be permanently disconnected at the end of the 15-day window.

According to claims shared by Abhishek Yadav on X (formerly Twitter), users are reporting such deactivations on a daily basis. This implies that if your SIM card is currently inactive—or is used solely for receiving incoming calls—your number, too, could face disconnection. Once the company deactivates a number, it may subsequently be reissued to another user; should this occur, you will permanently lose ownership of that number. To help you avoid this situation, here are some affordable recharge plans you can opt for to keep your SIM card active.

**Jio ₹189 Plan**
The ₹189 Jio plan offers 2 GB of high-speed data, along with unlimited voice calling to any network and 300 SMS messages. Valid for a period of 28 days, this plan also provides complimentary access to JioTV and JioCloud services. While the company does offer several other affordable plans, simply purchasing the ₹11 pack or other low-cost data packs will not suffice; this is because you must already have an active base plan on your number in order to utilize them. If you wish to prevent your number from being deactivated, you can safeguard it by recharging with this specific plan, as allowing your number to be disconnected could lead to significant complications.
