Priyanka Chopra is undoubtedly one of the finest actors we’ve had in Bollywood, and now, she’s gone on to conquer Hollywood as well, while ensuring that she has a global presence that only a few actors have managed to do so far. While she is a National Award-winning actor and has done it all, it wasn’t always like this.

Priyanka recently admitted how she wasn’t always good at anything, and in fact, revealed how she was a ‘dreadful’ dancer when she first started, which led to a choreographer yelling at her on set.

Priyanka Chopra recalls being a dreadful dancer

In a new interview with Vogue Arabia, Priyanka opened up about her early days in Bollywood and said. “I was a dreadful dancer when I first started. I was not able to act and nail the choreography at the same time, plus coordinate with my co-star. It was just too many things for my 19- or 20-year-old brain,” she recalled.

Priyanka also went on to recall how she had a confrontation with a choreographer during one of her first films. She said, “I was filming with Raju Khan in South Africa and missing my marks. He got so upset with me that he threw the mic down, saying, ‘You might come from a pageant, but learn how to dance before you become an actress. ’ He just walked away, and I was so embarrassed.” She did reveal that they are now great friends.

Interestingly, Priyanka went on to practice with Katrina Kaif for six hours a day, and also studied dance, to become better and get over the challenge. Back then, Katrina was also an up-and-coming Bollywood star, but was well known for her dancing prowess. And well, we now know how Priyanka did get over the ‘dreadful dancer’ tag and now has iconic performances like Desi Girl and Ram Chaahe Leela to her credit.

On the work front, Priyanka was last seen in Prime Video’s The Bluff, a pirate actioner, co-starring Karl Urban. The movie became one of the most-watched films on streaming and received good reviews. She is also looking to return to Indian cinema after eight long years with SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi. The movie is a pan-India release and also co-stars Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran, and is set to release in April 2027.
