Samsung India head of mobile phone business Raju Antony Pullan has put in his papers, according to two industry executives. The Korean giant is yet to announce his successor.

Pullan, a senior vice president, was with Samsung for 18 years, handling multiple businesses from time to time, including the consumer electronics portfolio.

As head of mobile phone business, he was responsible for sales, marketing and all functions of the smartphone business and is currently serving his notice period. The resignation by Pullan was tendered on Thursday.

Samsung has a second line of leadership in the mobile phone business, including Aditya Babbar and Hiren Rathod. No decision has been made on who will succeed Pullan.

Samsung has been under pressure in the mobile phone business having lost the leadership to Chinese brands though it is still amongst the top two in the premium segment fighting Apple.
