Weather Forecast: The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for several states across the country due to the possibility of heavy rainfall. The department has forecast heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and Northeast India this week. The Meteorological Department has stated that Uttarakhand may experience rain and snowfall, along with strong winds gusting at 40-50 km/h, from May 1 to May 6.

Meanwhile, rain is expected in Punjab from May 3 to May 6, and in Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi from May 3 to May 6 (in addition to May 1). Looking at the past 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rainfall has been recorded at isolated locations in Kerala and Mahe. Furthermore, intense rainfall has been observed in isolated areas of Assam, Odisha, South Interior Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.

– Light to moderate rain/snowfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds, is likely in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from May 3 to May 7.
– Light to moderate rainfall is likely in Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh from May 2 to May 7.
– Light to moderate rainfall is likely in Rajasthan from May 2 to May 7; in Western Uttar Pradesh from May 4 to May 6; and in Eastern Uttar Pradesh from May 4 to May 7.
– Hailstorms are likely in Jammu & Kashmir on May 3; in Himachal Pradesh on May 3 and May 4; and in Uttarakhand on May 4 and May 5.

Rainfall Prospects in Bengal:
The Meteorological Department has indicated that adverse weather conditions are likely to prevail in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim between May 1 and May 3. Additionally, light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms is forecast for the Gangetic Plains of West Bengal from May 1 to May 5.

Possibility of Rain in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh
The Meteorological Department states that light to moderate rainfall may be recorded in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh over the next five days. In several areas, thunderstorms with lightning are likely, and strong winds gusting at 40–50 km/h may prevail.

Delhi Weather Forecast
Delhi is expected to witness significant weather changes between May 2 and May 6. Initially, on May 2, the skies will remain partly cloudy. On May 3 and 4, the weather is expected to change further, with generally overcast skies and a possibility of light rain and lightning strikes. Light rainfall may also be observed on May 5.

– The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for Arunachal Pradesh, where very heavy rainfall is likely in isolated areas on May 2–4, as well as on May 6 and 7.
– Assam and Meghalaya may experience rainfall on May 2–4 and on May 7.
– Heavy rainfall is likely in isolated areas across Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura between May 2 and May 5.
– Heavy rainfall is also likely in isolated areas of Assam and Meghalaya during the period from May 2 to May 3.
