Fujairah: Three Indians were reportedly injured in dire caused by a drone attack in the UAE‘s Fujairah on Monday. This was the first such incident after the US and Iran announced a ceasefire on April 8. The incident took place at the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone.

Injured was shifted to hospital

As per the reports published in NDTV, a rescue team rushed to the spot after receiving the information. The injured were shifted to the hospital for treatment. The UAE’s armed forces also intercepted three Iranian missiles near its waters

It had also issued mobile phone alerts in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, warning civilians of the possible missile attacks in the region. “Due to the current situation, potential missile threats, immediately seek a safe place in the closest secure building, steer away from windows, doors, and open areas. Await further instructions,” the alert said.

Notably, this wasn’t the first time that time Fujairah’s energy infrastructure was hit. Earlier on March 14, a drone attack hit the Port of Fujairah. The incident not only caused fire but also led to the suspension of a number of oil-loading operations.

UAE confirms detection of four munitions

Meanwhile, confirming that four munitions coming from Iran were detected, the UAE said, “Four loitering munitions coming from Iran towards the country were detected, where three missiles were successfully intercepted over the country’s territorial waters, and the last one fell into the sea.”

“The Ministry of Defence confirmed that the sounds heard in scattered areas of the country are the result of the successful interception of the aerial threats. The Ministry urges the honourable public to obtain information from its official sources and verify the facts, in addition to adhering to all public safety measures upon receipt of warning messages,” it added further.
