New Delhi: A disturbing scene erupted on social media after a group of students allegedly ragged on another student in a private university in Greater Noida. The incident triggered concerns over the safety of students on campus.
In the video clip, a group of female students confronted a girl by slapping her, pulling her hair, and abusing her while other students stood by.
Following the video that circulated all over social media, the university administration addressed the matter and formed an internal committee to investigate the case. The university has already expelled the main accused. She is identified as Siddhi.
In the video, the assailants were telling the victim to apologise to everyone, and with each apology, a slap. Another student was trying to calm the situation, saying that the girl had apologised already, but the group replied, “Thappad toh padega,” and at the same time, another voice said, “Jab tak ro nahi jayegi, tab tak hum tujhe bhejenge nahi.”

Greater Noida (Bennett University): Junior student par abuse aur assault — yeh ragging nahi, clear bullying aur violence hai.
College spaces safe hone chahiye, intimidation zones nahi.

Later, local police also stepped in but confirmed that, till now, no complaint has been filed so far, either by the victim or the university administration.
ACP Dadri, Prashali Gangwar, said that the video is 10 to 12 days old and the officials are closely monitoring the matter. The authorities have pointed out that the appropriate disciplinary and legal action will be taken after the university submits its report with the facts.
The incident sparked questions about students’ security again, especially in the Delhi-NCR universities. People are saying on the internet that stricter enforcement of anti-ragging measures within the educational institutions is needed.
