Trinamool Congress suffered a crushing defeat in the West Bengal elections. BJP has won in this state for the first time. Meanwhile, Manoj Tiwari, former TMC MLA and Sports Minister of West Bengal, has made a sensational disclosure. He said that TMC did not give him the ticket because he did not give Rs 5 crore to the party. According to Manoj Tiwari, TMC had demanded Rs 5 crore from him for the ticket. Now Manoj Tiwari said that now he has separated from TMC. Manoj Tiwari is the highest run scorer in the history of Bengal cricket and he was also the Sports Minister in the Mamata government. Manoj Tiwari has scored 36 centuries in domestic cricket.
TMC's defeat is not shocking: Manoj Tiwari
Manoj Tiwari said that he was not at all surprised to see such defeat of TMC. He said, 'I am not at all surprised by this defeat. This is what happens when the entire party is involved in corruption and there is no development. TMC gave tickets only to those people who could pay huge amount. This time 70-72 candidates paid Rs 5 crore for the ticket. I was also asked for money but I refused. Now see how many people have won among those who gave money. '
Worked by spending money from my own pocket: Manoj Tiwari
Manoj Tiwari said that in the year 2019, TMC had offered him a ticket for the Lok Sabha elections but he refused. After this, again in the year 2021, he got a call from Mamata Banerjee to contest the assembly elections and he contested from Shibpur. Tiwari alleged that Mamata Banerjee did not listen to any of his problems, she used to stop him midway. Tiwari said that he had raised the issue of poor sewage in Howrah district but he did not get support from anyone. Manoj Tiwari said, 'Being a sitting MLA, I kept wandering from door to door for drainage work in my area, but Howrah Municipality did not listen to me. He used to stop even basic development works. I can tell you that some of the work I got done was not only done from MLA funds but I also gave money from my own pocket to complete the projects.
