BPSC 72nd CCE 2026: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released the notification for the 72nd Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2026. This recruitment drive aims to fill various prestigious Grade-A posts within the Government of Bihar, including positions such as Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and Superintendent of Police (DSP). The age limit for male candidates is 20 to 37 years, while for female candidates, it is 20 to 40 years. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted relaxation in the upper age limit in accordance with the applicable rules.

**What is the Selection Process?**

The selection process for this recruitment drive will be conducted in three stages. First, a Preliminary Examination (Prelims) will be held, which will be of an objective type. Candidates who qualify in this stage will be called for the Main Examination (Mains), which will be descriptive in nature. Subsequently, the final stage will involve a Personal Interview, based on which the final merit list will be prepared.

**BPSC Revises Prelims Examination Pattern**
The Commission has introduced a change in the pattern of the Preliminary Examination. According to the official notification, if candidates wish to leave a question unanswered, they must now select Option ‘E’. If no option is selected, negative marking will apply; specifically, one-third of the marks allotted to such questions will be deducted, and penalties will also be imposed for incorrect answers.

It is worth noting that the preliminary examination is of an objective type, comprising questions drawn from the General Studies paper. This examination carries a total of 150 marks, and candidates will be allotted a duration of two hours to complete it.
