There is good news for candidates preparing for the administrative services examination conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). This time, the BPSC has issued a notification for the 72nd Combined Competitive Examination. The examination will be conducted to fill a total of 1,230 vacancies. A significant highlight is that, out of these 1,230 posts, the highest number of vacancies are for officers in the Revenue Service. This means that for those aspiring to join the Revenue Service, this presents an excellent opportunity. The Commission has announced 365 vacancies for the post of Revenue Officer, of which 123 posts are reserved for women.
Vacancies have also been announced for 130 posts of Cooperative Extension Officer, with 47 posts reserved for women. Additionally, there are 65 vacancies for the post of Rural Development Officer, with 22 posts reserved for women. For the post of Block Panchayat Raj Officer, 70 vacancies have been announced, 22 of which are reserved for women. Furthermore, 65 vacancies have been announced for the post of Municipal Executive Officer, with 18 posts reserved for women. Candidates selected for these five posts will be remunerated according to Pay Level 7.
**Vacancies Announced for 100 Posts of Sub-Divisional Officer**
Meanwhile, under the Bihar Administrative Service, vacancies have been announced for 100 posts of Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO)—also referred to as Senior Deputy Collector. Of these, 34 posts are reserved for women. Under the Police Branch of the Home Department, 22 vacancies have been announced for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), with six posts reserved for women. Furthermore, 76 vacancies have been announced for the post of Assistant Commissioner of State Taxes, with 23 posts reserved for women. Candidates selected for these three posts will be remunerated according to Pay Level 9.
**Online Application Period**
The online application process will commence on May 7, 2026, and candidates may submit their applications until May 31, 2026. Interested candidates can visit the official BPSC website, bpsc.bihar.gov.in, to access detailed information and review the application process. Each candidate is required to pay a separate examination fee of ₹100 for every examination. This fee applies to all examinations, including the 72nd CCE, Child Development Project Officer, FAO, and Sub-Divisional Conservation Officer. If a candidate applies for more than one examination, they must pay a separate fee for each examination.
