Chhattisgarh Weather: Rain-storm alert in the state for 2 days, weather will change again from May 10, read IMD latest forecast

The weather pattern in Chhattisgarh is expected to remain the same till May 9. There is a possibility of thunderstorm and rain activities with strong winds at isolated places in the entire state for the next 2 days. Especially for the next 5 days, there is a possibility of thunderstorm with light rain at some places in Southern Chhattisgarh. After May 10, the weather will start becoming dry and clear again in the state.

At present there will be no significant change in the maximum temperature for the next 2 days, thereafter there may be a gradual increase of 2-3 degrees Celsius in the maximum temperature in the next 3 days. Raipur will remain cloudy on Wednesday. There may be drizzle at some places in the evening. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 38 degrees and 26 degrees Celsius respectively.

According to the daily report of the Meteorological Centre, Raipur, a cyclonic circulation lies over East Uttar Pradesh located at 0.9 km above sea level. The cyclonic circulation over central parts of Madhya Pradesh and the trough extending through Chhattisgarh, southeast Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand up to Bihar remains 0.9 km above sea level. Chakra, located in the central parts of Madhya Pradesh, the north-south trough extending through Marathwada, interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to the Gulf of Mannar, remains 1.5 km above sea level. Due to the impact of these weather systems, there is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall in the state till May 9. During this period, there are also chances of thunderstorms along with strong winds (40-50 KMPH).

Alert in these districts on Wednesday

  • Orange Alert: Light rain and thundershowers at some places in Bijapur and Narayanpur districts. Wind speed 40-50 km/h.
  • Yellow Alert: Light thunder and lightning at some places in Kondagaon, Bijapur, Bastar and Dantewada districts. Wind speed 30-40 km/hr.
