Amanpreet Singh Gill has Passed Away: A sad news amid IPL 2026 has shocked the entire Indian cricket world. Former Punjab fast bowler Amanpreet Singh Gill, who played Under-19 cricket with Virat Kohli, has passed away. Amanpreet Singh Gill said goodbye to this world at the age of just 36. Punjab Cricket Association gave this information to the fans by sharing a post on social media and expressed deep condolence on his demise.

Got a chance to play with Virat Kohli

Born in Chandigarh, Amanpreet Singh Gill played domestic cricket for Punjab cricket team. He represented India in the Under-19 Tri-Series in Sri Lanka in 2007, where players like Virat Kohli and Manish Pandey were his teammates. In that series, Amanpreet took 9 wickets in 5 matches, which also included a match-winning spell against Bangladesh in the final.

Apart from this, Amanpreet also played 6 first class matches for Punjab. In the initial years of IPL, he was a part of the Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) team, although he did not get a chance to play. Later he also served as a member of the Punjab Senior Selection Committee.

Punjab Cricket Association has expressed deep condolences on the demise of Amanpreet Singh Gill. PCA wrote on social media that Amanpreet Singh Gill served Punjab cricket with dedication and passion. The association expressed condolences to the family and prayed to God to give peace to the departed soul and strength to the family in this difficult time. In such a situation, there is a possibility that in the match of Punjab Kings against SRH, the team players will play wearing black bands to pay tribute.
