King Charles and Queen Camilla are set to step out for a glitzy night out in London on Monday, May 11. The couple, who visited the US last week, will be in attendance at A King's Trust Celebration, which is a special evening at the Royal Albert Hall celebrating the 50th anniversary of The King's Trust.
The event will bring together King's Trust ambassadors, alumni, staff and volunteers to celebrate the work of the charity and the many achievements of the young people it has supported over the last 50 years. As they arrive for the evening's celebrations, the King and Queen will be introduced to King's Trust, formerly known as The Prince's Trust, and to the Ambassadors and hosts for the evening, Ant and Dec.
During the evening, the royal couple will meet this year's King's Trust award winners, accompanied by their award presenters, as well as Trust ambassadors and performers.
Their Majesties will be invited on stage for a group photo with The King's Trust award recipients, and a 'three cheers' moment with the audience.
The King, who was then the Prince of Wales, founded the trust in 1976 using his Navy severance pay.
The King's Trust provides education, training, and mentorship to help them build confidence and secure employment, having supported over 1.3 million people in its 50-year history
A Garden Party will also be held at Buckingham Palace on May 14 to celebrate the King's Trust's 50th anniversary.
Noting the trust's success, it has been recorded that during the 2023/24 period, 98,640 young people were helped by the trust.
Seven in 10 young people who participated in international employability programs entered the labour market.
Three in four of those it has supported over the last five years have moved into work, education or training.
