A British tourist was found dead on Wednesday morning whilst on holiday. The 26-year-old's body was discovered by police in a rented house in Santa Margalida, Majorca.

Shards of glass from a door were found embedded in the victim's head, and the Judicial Police team of Guardia Civil in Pollensa has opened an investigation to find out the cause of the man's death.

Officers from the Santa Margalida Local Police were the first to arrive at the scene following the incident, which was believed to have occurred around 7:30am. Several witnesses have also been interviewed.

According to the local police, four men and two women present at the house had consumed a large quantity of drugs.

The witnesses explained that they had been partying and that they arrived at the house with the intention of continuing to take drugs and drink alcohol, reports Majorca Daily Bulletin.

It is believed that the victim was in a highly agitated state after consuming a significant amount of narcotics and died after hitting his head on a glass door.

The death has also been reported to the duty court in Inca, around a 20-minute car journey from the village where the victim was staying.
